i-IDeA 2014 - Invention & Innovation Exhibition (Event A, B, C & D )
Details
  1. This competition is open to all LOCAL and INTERNATIONAL participants.
  2. The following exhibits are NOT ACCEPTED for this competition:Exhibitors must complete a separate entry form for each invention which they wish to exhibit. Not more than one invention may be included on each form.
    1. Invention which are a duplication of others
    2. Invention which may provoke public disorder and have values that are contrary to moral, public health and welfare
    3. Invention which may be subject matters of any IP disputes or contention
  3. Exhibitors are responsible to obtain Intellectual Property (IP) protection for their exhibitions. Once the entry form has been accepted and the registration confirmed by the comittee, the exhibitor is obliged to pay the the total amount of fee within the allocated timeframe (refer to I-IDeA website)
  4. Exhibitors who cancel their participation after the last registration date must pay the whole amount of their invoiced fee
  5. All particulars submitted in the Entry Form (including Abstract) are accepted AS-IS. The I-IDeA organizers accepts no responsibility for any errors in the translation or wording of descriptions published in the Programme Book or in the e-Proceedings
  6. The organizers accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft, damage due to fire or other causes, or personal injury suffered during or after the exhibition or in transit.
  7. The participant(s) further agree to release, acquit and covenant not to sue the organizer for all actions, causes of action, claims or damages, of whatever kind, including the negligence of the organizer, arising out of participation in this program.
  8. The decision of the panel of judges for the competition is final. The participant(s) shall not hold the panel of judges or its members or the organizers liable in respect of any matters which arise from or is connected to the result, conduct or the organizing of the competition.

Poster Format:

The poster must include:

      • Project Title 
      • Names of Project leader (or advisor) and Project members
      • Institution name
      • Abstract
      • Objectives
      • Novelty
      • Commercialization potential / Benefits to community or socio-economy
      • Framework/Methodology/explanation on how the product work

Additionally, participants are advised to bring materials to support their project/exhibition claims, such as documentation, photographs, newspaper cuttings, brochure, business proposals, patent application/documents, etc 

IBV (Event E)
Rules and Regulation
  1. Open to all students from IPTAs and IPTSs
  2. Each institution can register more than one team as representative (maximum: 5 students and 1 advisor).
  3. A team with more than 5 students is not allowed.
  4. Every registration must be submitted with a business plan not more than 10 pages in A4-size paper and a maximum of 20 pages appendices.The submitted business plan must be in English and PDF format.
  5. Prensentation delivery is within 10 minutes (including presentation of prototype) and 5 minutes for Q/A session.

 Rules and Regulation for Satellite F (Government Department, Government-linked companies (GLCs) & Private sectors)
Details
  1. This competition is open to all LOCAL and INTERNATIONAL government department, Government-linked companies (GLCs) and private sectors.  
  2. Each organization can send numerous representatives of the desired team, where each team consists of a maximum of 10 participants. Each member must be officially registered in the portal. Please go to http://i-idea2014.com/index.php/registration for registration purposes.
  3. Every registration must be submitted with an abstract (not more than 300 words). The submission should be made in English and in PDF format.
  4. During judging session, exhibitors will deliver their presentation within five (5) minutes and three (3) minutes for Q/A session.

ISSC & ISTEC Conferences (Event G)

1.     Only  one registration is allowed for students while non-students are permitted to submit more than one paper presentation with the following payment:

2.     If cancellation is made after registration, the fees would not be refunded.

3.     ONLY  the registered participants are allowed to present in the conference.

4.     All conference participants are at their own risk during the conference. Conference organization is not responsible for any circumstances such as losses or accidents.

5.     Certificates for participants would be prepared without addressing their respective designation.  

6.     The conference organization will not make any hotel/accommodation reservation for the participants.

ComiiC (Event H, I & J)
Details

Commercialization Innovation and Idea Competition (ComiiC) is a platform for national students to deliver their idea that meets the innovation concepts. The aim of the competition is to train the students to deliver research and innovation idea verbally with high confidence level that potentially to be commercialized and contribute to the nation. The categories of the ComiiC competition consist of three (3) categories:

  1. Satellite Event H: Secondary School
  2. Satellite Event I: Student (Public Higher Education)
  3. Satellite Event J: Student (Private Higher Education)
Theme: "A Power of Idea for a Better Future"
  • Relevance of the idea in solving problem(s) concerned (can the idea solve any problem? Can the potentially of the idea be commercialized?)
  • The idea can contribute to innovation related to any fields.
Rules and Regulation
  1. Open to all students from IPTAs, IPTSs and secondary schools.
  2. Each institution/school can register more than one team (maximum: 2 students and 1 advisor).
  3. A team with more than 2 students is not allowed.
  4. Every registration must be submitted with a technical report not more than TWO pages in A4-sized paper. The submission should be made in English and in PDF format.
  5. Verbal delivery is within 5 minutes and 3 minutes Q/A session without any supported document or material.
  6. Any supported document or material will result in a deduction of marks.

Evaluation Criteria
  1. The organizer has the right to appoint any judges to evaluate the participating entries and the decisions are final.
  2. The evaluation is based on:The judges have the right to reject all the participation which does not meet all the requirements of the evaluation criteria.

    3. Rationale of idea
    4. Market potential of the idea
    5. Dissemination of information
